I have been building a home theature room for my friend, he had the bose lifestyle 5 system, and found out that the sub is bad. So since he is on a budget he wants to keep his double cube speakers, with stands. All I want to get for him is a Receiver and sub..

What is good out there that is fairly cheap.. Something with DTS.
Also any good subs? Myself I got the 10" or 12" infinity sub which I think is AWESOME!

let me know guys ! Thanks!

i have 'heard' these hooked up direct even set to "small" with a 120hz cross over point...... it was "snap crakle and pop" haha

    Have your mate read http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html

then maybe he'll find some $ to get ..... errrrm any other speaker.... just as the B.O.S.E acroynm says "Buy Other Sound Equipment" :)

My old boss fitted bose speakers and subs in my old place of work when he refurbised it. I always felt there was something missing from the sound when I was playing rock music through them and the bass was awful. Even my cheap old pioneer bass boomer was tighter than them:eek: and now i know why:rotfl:

I may even send him the link for a laugh:devil:

Just connect up a decent amp, turn up to a high volume - then buy some real loud speakers
