I want to setup a system to deal with the following:

    TV
    DVD
    DAB Separate
    iPod
    PS2

I have been looking at the following

    Denon PMA655
    Denon Pure Digital DRX701es
    Wharfdale Evo 20 speakers

Do you think these are suitable?

I am not really sure if i need an av amp or not? the TV is dolby logic surround sound inbuilt.

    any help much appreciated :lease:

    Hi J&S,

An AV amp would make set up in the long run a little easier if dvd is in your plans, however if you're not too sure of the benefits then get a second hand AV amp, denon, pioneer, arantz etc, and you'll have a tidy little set up. If its not for you then you could sell the av amp with minimal loss.

ProLogic, to be honest, sounds very poor when compared to a good DD/DTS set up for dvd but is good enough for an ambient feel with tv and stereo music.

Oh and MP3's are perfect for flitting about, and good enough for background noise at home - I think Buganna is pulling your leg as he's been quite helpful on other threads.
