    Has anybody got the NEC 42 VR5 ? if so is it any good has anybody seen one up and running ? any advice would be helpfull

    There is a thread for the VR5 already. I suggest you read that and post any questions you might have there.

    For what it's worth I liked the VR5 and I think it is the one I shall go for. Like all plasmas it does have some issues. You either have some jitter on ticker tape or some softness of picture (smearing). However, on the plus side I thought the picture better than the Viera and Pioneer in JL (but perhaps JL did not have these at their best). The VR5 has loads of inputs, is future proof and has lots of adjustments.
