I've got an old model 50" NEC plasma. Works a treat, but every now and then it cuts out automatically into standby mode. I've double checked (1) Not overheating (2) Always a video signal present (3) Timer off.

    Any ideas pls??

Does the time to switch off vary??

If it does, it does sound like a heat or tolerance fault, and possibly related to power supply shutting down for some reason. Only option really is to talk with NEC.

    All the best,

    Dr John Sim.

    Thanks for that.

Yes the time to shut off does vary - so I think you're probably right ie it is a tolerance fault.

I've spoken to NEC - costs an arm and a leg just for an evaluation!

    Regards
