I've got a NEC 2510A DVD Writer, and i'm using it in a Mitec ME-360 external USB 2.0 enclosure (Oxford Semi OXFW911 Chipset).

But i'm getting serious/strange problems, when writing DVD's.

If i attempt to burn a DVD-Video, the burn process is successful until around 50% of the data has been written, then Nero shuts down and i get a fatal exception error. But sometimes, the burn process is successful.

For example, i'll get problems when burning Battlestar Galactica Mini series, either part 1 or 2. But Stargate Series 8 is fine

I'm using the same software, NeroVision, to remove the ads and burn to DVD.

If i attempt to burn a DVD-Data......all i get is SCSI reset errors, before even the lead-in has been written to the disc.

    I think i've covered all angles, but i can't find a resolution.

Just to rule out the DVD-Writer itself being faulty, i plugged it into my IDE port and i have no problems whatsoever.

My motherboard is an Asus A7N8XE rev 2 Deluxe.

    Any help welcomed!!!
