I plan to build a HCPC for use with my CRT projector and a Meridian active speaker system. I currently have a HK AVR5000 AV reciever which I can use as a decoder/preamp. I want to sell the HK receiver and put the money towards a Lexicon decoder. In the mean time I know that I can use the pc as a DVD player and use a 5.1 output from a sound card to drive the Meridian speakers. I also plan to use a Nebula card for watching/recording TV programmes. Is it possible to decode the output from the Nebula card to Pro Logic without an external decoder? I read lots of posts on soundcards and from what I've read I understand that only software DVD players decode Dolby digital/prologic. Can someone please confirm this for me please.
