I was just looking for the best price for NBA 2K7 on the PS3. It seems like Play.com have it for £17.99 which is 60% off the MSRP. If anyone is thinking of getting a basketball game this is a an opportunity to get it at a great price. NBA 2K7 has got great feedback and reviews. It's definitely much better then Sony's NBA 07 and there is no EA NBA Live 07 this year. I just thought I'd post it here incase anyone else is interested. :)

Basketball sims are always good for a laugh... *orders*

Or at least... I would. If Play wasn't messing up. Every time I click on "checkout" it fails on me! Just says "You have no outstanding orders"

That hapenned to me too at first on my Powerbook using the Safari web browser. Then I tried Firefox on my PC with the same problem. Reluctantly I finally tried Internet Explorer on my PC and I was able to complete the order. I have no idea what's going on as I'm sure I've used both Safari and Firefox before to place orders on Play.com. Anyway if you haven't already then try I.E. as that should work.

I don't have IE on my macs... They stopped supporting it. I've tried Firefox Safari, but not tried Opera yet.

It's odd, I placed an order last week or so and it was fine...

Just ordered at £17.99. Played demo and was ok, but i'm sure Blockbusters will give me £26 store credit for it after a few plays.

I just ordered NBA 2K7 and NHL 2K7 as well; at £17.99 each you can't really go wrong.

I take it you played the 360 demo then as there is no PS3 demo for it as of yet. If you don't like basketball at all then it's probably not for you. I guess if you get make some extra trade in value it might be worth trying out.

Yes, my mistake i played the NBA game from the US store and it isn't this one. Still, it gets 8.3 from IGN. So must be worth £17.99 really.

In which case don't judge NBA 2K7 based on the demo of NBA 07. They are two different games and whilst NBA 07 is a poor game overall NBA 2K7 is far better and the best of the basketball sims available at the moment. Sony has never done a good job on their first party sports games and things haven't changed. 2K sports on the other hand has overtaken EA in most of the American sports games and are better for the most part then their EA counterparts.

Don't forget VG+ will also charge you around £3 shipping cost. They do have NHL in stock though where as Play.com don't.

And also, he would only be able to play against those with a US version of the game if he got it from videogamesplus.

Thinking about ordering the NHL game, but could anyone confirm if the UK version of the game will play on a US PS3?

for me its a tough decision because they are american sports nba and nhl wold you be better getting them from the states as then you should be able to find someone to play online more than on the uk servers and isnt nba 2k pretty poor for us in europe compared to the yanks i read it on the forums here yesterday but if theres a few of us online it might be ok

All PS3 games are region free regardless of where they are from.

Well just like with PSP games PS3 games do have a region code on the back of the case. However this region coding is irrelevant and doesn't mean anything. Play are probably just trying to discourage people from importing by not openly stating that the games are actually region free. The only region restrictions on PS3 games tends to be with the online although I don't think it effects all games. Basically with a lot of games you can only connect to servers which are in the same region as where the game is from. If you don't care about this or the game is offline only anyway then it's not an issue.

Be careful though as only Sony has said that all of their published games will be region free. Other publishers will use their discretion.

Well at the moment they are all region free and whilst this may change in the future I very much doubt it. For me personally it doesn't matter as I buy primarily US games as I have all US consoles. If I do buy a PAL or Japanese/Asian game I always make sure it is definitely going to work before ordering it.
