I had more or less decided on the Garmin i3 at about £130 when I saw the Navman iCN 510 at £165 refurbished with a years warrantycomplete with carry case, holder etc. As this is a touch screen, and bigger etc, I am now in a quandry as to whether this would be a better buy. I have read reviews on both, but do not have enough knowledge to compare both to each other? Is anybody able to make comparrisons for me please with +/-. Cheers Nearly50

    Hi Nearly

I wouldn't suggest you to buy either for the following reasons.

I3 is pretty useless, it doesn't even show the road names.

Navman ICN 510 is OK but why do you want to buy a model which is 2 years old.

Instead you can get the Navman ICN 520 which is the recent model, which is much better in terms of hardware and software.

Got my i3 last week and it shows all road names

It works brilliantly, a great little unit for £130, can't fault it.

Get yourself one now, you won't be dissapointed

i3 all the way and save yourself a packet!

Only downside is having to print that huge user manual off the web (that's if you want to tune all the features).

Then log on to www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk and download the latest software, maps, speed cameras, etc.... and you will have a fab piece of kit

Don't know what you were looking at but my i3 shows road names.

I was using it in Scotland in a hire car last week and it was perfect. Never screwed up once.

The i3 is probably the best piece of kit for the £££ that I have ever purchased for any car I have ever had. I ain't joking.
