Just been on the phone to register my plasma for extended warranty with Nationwide and have been informed that they don't cover plasma's

I pointed out that it does state plasma's on their website and this was the exact reason I had purchased with a Nationwide credit card.

Any avforum members availled off the extended warranty offered by Nationwide ?

Would like to have some more backup when the manager rings me back.

I'm not a happy chappy :censored: :censored: :censored:

I called up Nationwide last week to register my panny TH42-PW7. Still waiting on the documentation coming through - but I quite clearly told them it was a plasma TV costing £2k - and they seemed happy to quote me the extended warranty cover (years 3 to 5) and send me out the docs.

That said, I've not received anything from them yet ........

Hello Johnny I bought a PW6 at the end of September with Nationwide visa and have the extended warrant the certificate clearly states Plasma Tv up to the value of £3500 The warranty is underwritten and administered by Pinnacle insurance. Hope this is of some help.

As Plasma Screens are specifically stated as being eligible on this page...

Nationwide Credit Card - What Do You Get?

... I can't see how there could possibly be any confusion. They are also listed as being eligible in the policy document.

    Thanks for the replies.

I pointed out to them that their website states the extended guarantee covers plasma's, but all I could get was a no. Manager was due to call me back yesterday, but still no call.

Will hopefully have time later today to ring them.

I'll keep you posted, but believe me if they refuse, I'll be taking this as far as it goes.

Could try calling again and getting through to the next person in line to answer the phone. I've had situations like this where I've waited, called back ten minutes later, got a different salesperson, and got that guy to agree to what the last person refused to!!!
