NAS with Mac and Plex Support.

I need to get a NAS to bare the brunt of the storage for my media centre setup which is based on a Mac Mini running Plex.

I like the idea of a NAS which runs Plex nicely.

So far the short list from member suggestion includes:

Ready Nas Pro by Netgear, perhaps a 4 bay.

QNap, probably QNAP 419p+

Both seem capable , the former seems very clued up for Plex.

I'll still need to keep the Mac Mini on to pump the movies to my TV as it's not a DNLA TV , so I'm not overly concerned about a massive processor on the NAS as it won't be doing the transcoding.

Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

The Plex server only runs on x86 NAS and the 419P+ is Arm based. The TS-439 Pro II+ is QNAP's cheapest x86 4- bay NAS. The x86 2 bay TS-259 Pro+ has 5 USB ports so you could add additional HDD's that way to the NAS.

If the x86 Netgear 4 bay are cheaper I'd go with them.
