Nas folder allocation

Have just set up a new Netgear PersonalCloud NAS drive 2 x 3 Tb with a public folder and a separate secure folder for myself for backup. Will each folder be allocated 1.5 Tb so when i use Time Machine once the 1.5 Tb has been reached will older files be deleted or will backup continue until it reaches 3 Tb?. In other words is it like having a partitioned drive or am i mistaken. Thanks.

As long as you set the folder size on the NAS to 1.5TB it won't exceed that and yes TimeMachine will clear out oldest backup files first once it fills that space.
