Hi folks,

I have a ReadyNAS Duo running two 1TB disks in RAID0........

Its reaching capacity, about 88%....

The write performance has dropped form my usual 37MB/s to about 4MB/s, also when accessing a file (1080p film) it starts to slow down making it unwatchable...

I am aware read/write performance will decrease the fuller the disk(s) get, however are the speed drops above normal....

Is there anything I can do.......?

Is there a certain percentage people keep free on their disks in order to allow for performance.....

Thanks for any ideas in advance...:smashin:

Are you sure there can't be another reason? That's quite a drop in performance!

Is your network definitely OK?

I believe so, I have home plugs but the NAS is not connected to them......

It's all wired through a dlink dir 655 router with 1g LAN ports......

I used a LAN speed test tool that said speeds were normal all be it for a 1g file and not a 1080p file.....

I suppose I have not considered my network player......

More testing is required I fear.......

What king of performance drop is normal.....
