    Hi All,

Im look for a new pair of speakers, budget is about £1k. problem is that to keep the wife happy and to fit in the room they have to be as narrow as possible, I'm thinking of either the PMC GB1 or a model from Totem. Are there any others I should consider? ( I have a REL 150 sub and music tastes are blues and rock, )

    Hi Martin,
You could take a look at the Vienna Acoustics 'Mozart' that's only 170mm wide.
Apart from that you won't go far wrong with the GB1's

You could also try the Spendor S5E - very compact.

the definitive technology Mythos are VERY narrow, but at £1800 a pair maybe a little over budget. Monitor audio radius floorstanders are also very narrow, not sure on price though.

    spent the morning in London

Firstly to Musical Images in Covent Garden, total waste of time! The staff totally ignored me, chatting on the phone, didn’t even acknowledge me, avoid at all costs! Next onto KJ on TCR, much better, listened to the Splendors and the Mythos4, lastly to the Cornflake shop, where I listened to and ordered a pair of PMC GB1s thanks for all the advice

Well done that man for :

    a) making an excellent choice
    b) not pointing at the OB1's........ !

Got my OB1's on Monday and started to unpack them - opened the bottom of the box, stood the box up and tried to lift the box off the top of the speaker - trouble is it hit the ceiling before it cleared the speaker

Ever had that "They didn't look that big in the shop......" moment before ????

And I only went in the shop for some cables..... :suicide:

Anyway.... hope you enjoy the GB1's, and welcome to club PMC !
