I while back, a year or two (I Think), I was watching a DVD with trailers.

I recall a film that contained 3 or 4 short stories on it, think the genre was horror with good actors in it (Tom Hanks was one I think).

Can anyone make a guess to what it could be from this incredibly vague description :)

    Cheers

    Piero

I think the first film Tom ever made was a slasher movie called He Knows You Are Alone.

I think it may have been on in the cinema, dont rember it being volume 1 or 2, just a normal title and was composed of various tales, think it was reasonably decent budget.

Thanks of all the help so far, you have your work cut out to guess this one :)

When I saw the trailer (may have been a bit cheech and chong at the time ;)

Im sure I recall that each stories was directed by famous directors or something like that.

Maybe best forget about this desperate thread , think this will remain one of the great mysteries of life (mine)

Could it possibly be Four Rooms:-

    http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0113101/

It's not really a horror (unless your talking about what it's like to sit through :D ) but it fit's the bit about multible directors and 4 stories with a director doing 1 segment each...

If it's not this then I'm as stumped as you are...

I agree. The episode Tom Hanks was in I believe he also directed and was quite nasty in, as I remember (he was a hitman and did a far better job here than in Road to Perdition).

It was quite bloody and noirish so could easily be mistaken as being "horrific."

I also seem to remember he was in a Dick Donner-directed episode of Tales from the Crypt, so it could be that too, I suppose. I'm almost positive it isn't a theatrical film: more a cable anthology of one of the above shows.

    regards,
    anephric
