Got the series on R1 DVD, shame about the death of the lead which lead to the second season being cancelled.

I did not know that, just looked it up - Mark Frankel.

Did you enjoy the show?.

Very much so when it was first shown in SKY1, I did buy the DVD:)

It's dated now of course but still very different from the Vampire take used by Joss Whedon in Angel/Buffy and Blood Ties or Moonlight especially in that it's the Vampires that are the show, the plain old human is really the side dish (so to speak). It perhaps has more in common with how Blade the movie presented Vampires (never read the comic of either show) but Kindred was ridiculously stylish even for it's time:)

Yep it was good if typically short UK series with the token American character used in an effort to sell it to the US but which led only to a FOX failed pilot:)
So far it's been on CH4, Scifi and SKY1, it may even have been on E4 in between some of them, oh and had a young Jack Davenport in it.

Hi Rai,

I'm afraid that you've got confused: "Ultraviolet" was the Channel 4 show. "Kindred: The Embraced" has never aired on ITV1. And the other show you may be thinking of "Forever Knight" had a vampire theme too, and made a very brief ITV appearance, but only the Pilot Movie/Episode was ever aired, not the series in full.

The only other show, you may be thinking of is: "WOLF LAKE"!

The show ran for just 9 episodes in total, and starred Lou Diamond Phillips, Tim Matheson, Graham Greene, Sharon Lawrence, Scott Bairstow and Mia Kirshner!

This series aired on ITV1 twice, although the first run, from memory, was aborted part way through, and then rescheduled (to be repeated in full, in the second run)!

The series is out on DVD in the USA, I think, but don't hold me to that. ;) A full episode guide to the show, can be found here :)

Hope that helps. :hiya:

Wolf Lake was indeed on ITV1 and ITV2 I think, I rewatched it myself after seeing the US broadcasts via the usual methods but no mafia or Italian leanings, plenty of Native American influences though.
For how long it lasted it should have been a FOX show:)

Have to see if I can find a R1 release, I converted the downloads to DVD and printed up a nice sleeve. It was I think one of the early HD productions so widescreen from the US which was still rare back then and of course Mia Kirschner at her seductive and mysterious best:)
