I have a favourite film from the early 90's titled "Naked". The lead was David Thewlis, who played a Manc moving down to London. Been trying to find this on DVD for a while with no success. Does anybody on here know of it and whether it is/or will be available on DVD?
Hi Zog, I know the film you're talking of. It was a British movie, by director Mike Leigh, from 1991 if memory serves. Anyway, the film starred David Thewlis and Katrin Cartlidge, amongst others, and is a realy nihilistic movie - possibly Leigh's bleakest to date. Sadly, I don't think it's out on DVD anywhere in the world. It was released on video, by Channel 4 Films, but it has long been deleted. It turns up on Channel 4 and FilmFour fairly regularly though, if that helps. Pooch
Wouldn't have described it as bleak... at least not by Mike Leigh's standards. Interesting that you say it was Channel 4 films. Just trawled through a HMV offer of all the Channel 4 films BOGOF. This ain't amongst 'em.. shame ! The one scene I remember was a 15 minute rant with some numb-nut security guard.
one of my favourites also quite surprised it isnt out as leighs other films like "meantime", "life is sweet" , "career girls", "topsy turvy" and "secrets and lies" are all available at budget prices

Got so keen about it now that I've e-mailed Channel 4 Films for an explanation for it's 'non' release!
