Thinking of upgrading my old aura cd player to either a Naim cd 3.5 or a meridian 506 20 bit. Does anyone know what bit the naim is and what sounds best.
    thanks

Chalk and cheese. What are you partnering it with ? What sort of sound do you like. Meridian is a pretty neutral sounding player, where the Naim is more forward with a drier presentation which highlights the midrange and gives a rythmic feel. If you want to listen to HiFi then perhaps the Meridian is the one for you, but if you want musicality buy the Naim. My choice would be the Naim, but theres a lot of people who struggle with the presentation, its been described as lifelike.
