first post so forgive me for jumping right in!

I spent a good part of today reading posts and it has been very educational. You guys certainly know your stuff!

I was wondering what anyone thought of the new NAD M55 universal player

The pre and power amps also look quite interesting!

Sorry - should have been clearer in my question (newby alert!)

I am looking to upgradde my entire system which comprises of seprate Rega CD and Philips DVD player wih no AV amp as yet. i really want a universal player that will play CDs at least as good as my Rega Planet. SACD is also on the wish list and HDCD would aslo be nice! Not many that do all of these until I found this new shiny thing by NAD!

My shortlist at the mo is either the Marantz DV9500 or Denon DVD-3910 both (certainly the Denon) which will be a hard sell with the interior design police (ie my wife)

I have no experience of NAD products - is this likely to stack up against the Marantz or the Denon?
