General consensus is that AV amp are never as good as music amp for 2-Ch stereo music. I was wondering whether flagship amps like the Yamaha AZ1 or other similarly priced AV would be as good as a music amp like the C370. Would appreciate feedback. Thanks.

I dont know whether this helps at all......

marantz pm66kis stereo amp easily bettered a yamaha A1.....quite how the more recent big AV's stack up, i dont know. But id be willing to bet that a £400 stereo amp will hammer almost any AV amp.

From what other say, the rotel 1075 power amp (5 channels at £750ish) is much much better than the internal amplification of av amps that they have used.
