Just bought myself a pair of ex-dem, essentially new, B&W Nautilus 805's in Cherry for £1000.00, they arrive on Saturday!

The official stands retail at about £400 don't they?! I think that's extortionate! How vital is it too buy the B&W stands, are there are of you using suitable alternatives?!

Also, I am negoitiatiog a deal for 2 pairs of 2.5m Kimber Kable 8TC terminated and suitable for bi amping my arcam a90 and p90. The price is £250 for these cables. Is this a good deal and have a choosen the right ones?

    Cheers people,
    Nic

I use the B&W stands bit a lot of people use the HNE ones

    http://www.hne.co.uk/

I am not sure how much they are or if the come in silver.

I use Chord Oddyssey 4 cable and IMO it's very good.

    How much are they ?

Did you find out if they were available in silver ?

BTW the chord cable is £34 a metre and would only work out at £170

The stands will make a difference. I have a pair of Kef Ref 201's which had their dedicated stands (about £400). For a quick test I tried a pair of Atacama 6 stands and the difference was night and day. The bass was "tizzy", thats the best word I could use and the mid range was less detailed, couldn't tell if the highs were any different though. As these are high value speakers I would suggest that you want to get the best possible stand out of them, so use the best stands you can, within reason.
I thinks Alexs2 has the sig versions of these, not sure what stands he uses but he may chip in with some advice. Think Rags also had these so he may chip in
