This has got me baffled. Get home from work in the evenings, and notice that my Sky+ planner seems to have things either recorded or set to record that I have never set. Ranging from Postman Pat through to films.

Anyone had there Sky+ with a mind of its own? :lease: Really confused.

All I can come up with is a neighbour with Sky+ and interference from their remote, or somebody getting into my house, setting things to record and then leaving...weird.

I have these periodically. Don't know why. Sometimes I think it is Sky "pushing" programmes into the box but I don't even know whether that is possible.

It is possible for SKY+ to have programs remotely set, that was part of the spec of the NDS XTV that SKY+ is based on, however it has never been done.

The mysterious planner entries are perhaps more related to the finite amount of codes that identify individual programs and additional series link data. Given the seemingly lax and sloppy code that runs SKY+ is not far fetched to assume that corrupted data or simply errors in the EPG can generate planner entries.

Never seen this on my SKY+ which again could point to the software being the root cause either at a core level or the way a particular broadcasters manipulates it.

I sometimes get a "rogue programme" when I press the record button instead of the text button

I get the impression that Series Links gone astray can cause this - if a series ends or the next episode is a few weeks ahead it can cause a random programme to appear in the planner when the old link "gets sick of waiting" for the real programme to appear in the epg.

*ahem* I get random recordings and programmes set up in my sky+ planner

I have not found the cause or any pattern as of yet.

i found that my sky + started recording programs that i flicked passed ie it seemed to get confused from the signals that were telling it to jump to the next fave and the signal to record it, this explained it mostly for me, the other thing i think happens is a series finishes and the +box goes off looking for it and takes the first thing it finds that matches the code.
