Apparently my Sanyo Z4 is in stock and getting delivered Monday or Tuesday. Will post initial views once I throw it up temporarily in my spare bedroon, until garage is ready. I have only ever seen a cheap Toshiba DLP and a H78 with dc3 to compare to I am afraid, so will not be able to give opinions on improvements from Z3 etc. but gawd am I looking forward to it.

Oh I know. I am not usually an early adopter, but the money to build my Home Cinema room has come in just as models were changing so I was in a quandry. Demod the H78, which I loved, but saw too many rainbows and suffered some eye strain, so that route was out, so had to go for LCD. Felt best way to minimise the defficiencies of LCD was to go for something with the new D5 panels, so have taken this shot in the dark. Just praying Joe at TMF will be able to help me if the quirks of the model arise. I am getting a Lumagen DVI scaler as well, so hopefully this will help. Have never witnessed VB and am already dreading seeing it

Indeed, it is your noble sacrifice that the more cowardly amongst us (i.e. all of us) are indeed able to stand on the shoulders of giants.

For those of you whose cash is about to die...etc...;)

Don't worry, it'll be great. I'm sure they've learned a lot from the Z3. And if the specs are to be believed, as well as those yummy pics from the Epson equivalent, it's going to be amazing quality. Be sure to report back!...PJ :)

:D Mate, if I had the cash I would be no different to you and since I have a Z3 (which I think is fantastic) I'm sure a Z4 will be even better. But for sure come back and let us all know just how great it is...

Rone: Delighted you are getting one, means we are guaranteed some great tweaking tips from you, although using the lumagen unfortunately means a lot will not apply I suppose, worse luck

Best of luck and I think you've made a great selection with the Z4

I do think Sanyo has listened to people with what they build into their machines.
The dust puffer holes are such a superb idea, it makes you wonder why the other manuacturers have not done the same.

I, like others, await your views with great interest.

Gutted, now been told, after getting confirmation of delivery, that only 2 projectors came in and both were sent out for review and next lot not expected for 3 to 4 weeks. Wonder why I bothered pre-ordering really.

    Eeek :thumbsdow :suicide:

Edit: Why would a dealer send them out for review? I know the manufactor can say they sent them out for review but a dealer
