Here is the room I'm turning into a cinema room. the room size is 4.85m x 3.65m We got French sliding doors put in and I'm in the process of getting quotes to get everything installed. Getting a 100" motorized screen fitted into the widow frame, a Sony Bravia projector, a Bose sound system, and a nice upscaling DVD player. I'm also on the hunt for a cinema lounge (4 seater with cup holders). And I have 10 poster frames and a custom DVD rack that will hold 550 DVD's being made up to complete the look, and a nice AV cabinet. It should look really simple but really clean once its all finished. And I'm lucky for installation because I have 3 mates who are sparkies and I'm going with bloke who says the cheapest price!

Here is the door as you enter the room:

Looks like you have a good base to make a great set-up.
If you have the cash get some Monitor audio golds or silvers.

Got some black downlights going in next week but I'm thinking of waiting till I get the AV equipment and get it all done at the same time. I reckon it will save me some cash so I can buy more DVD's to watch on the big screen.

    Mmmm... Friday the 13th 3D :)

I picked up my Projector today!!!

I went with the Sony HW10

Got my AV man coming over on Saturday to work out where its all going to go and how its going to be done so expect some pictures in a few weeks of the project as it comes along. I also have some Sony equipment going in but I'm still tracking down a decent Screen and Mount for the projector.

All of the pre-wiring is finished now, and the paint is dry. The sparky comes back tomorrow to install all the speakers, the screen, the projector/mount, the amp/dvd etc. I will have other pictures tomorrow of the finished room with posters and dvd rack. Just got to get some new carpet and a cinema lounge.

Here is some pictures of the install - ImageShack® - Gallery

FINISHED !!! Just need new carpet, recliners, and more posters!

The HW10 looks great out of the box but its going to look even better when I get in calibrated to its full potential.

We watched Starship Troopers for the first movie and it was awesome. The bugs looked real. The effects in that movie are top notch.
