My PANASONIC VIERA TX-55CX400B is not showing the full screen on the tv show. It seems to be cutting some parts out. Before when I put my tv on auto it will cover the entire screen but now it has 2 black bars on the sides. Even when the TV was without the black bars it still seemed to look like it was cutting some parts out. Any help with this? Also if you can't help how can I remove the black bars on auto mode and put it atleast back to how it was before. Additionally I did some searching and it said I need to enable "full" mode and put it on "size 2" however I cannot find any option to find out how to enable/disable full and put on size 2.

    -Thank you in advance.

I can put it on 16x9 but there's no "widerscreen".

What are you viewing?..,built in Freeview?...if so, are you maybe watching a programme made in 4x3?
Or are you watching a set-top box on an AV input?

Right, let's start again...are you in the UK?
Is it definitely a Sky Satellite box?
Is it connected by scart lead and are you viewing it on the scart input of the Tv (rather than on the analogue tuner).
If yes to all these go into the Sky box picture settings and set the output to 16x9 widescreen, RGB video output and "scart control" to on. Don't forget to press the button to "Save new settings"
There are 2 scart sockets on Sky+ boxes, make sure the scart lead is plugged into the one marked "Tv Scart" which is usually the bottom socket on some boxes but it's printed next to the socket so get a torch if necessary and double check.
Set your Tv aspect ratio to "Auto"...just be aware if it's a modern 16x9 widescreen programme you're viewing it will fill the screen, if it's an older 4x3 programme you will get black bars either side and if it's a movie on one of the Sky Movies channel it may be in 2.35x1 in which case you'll get black bars top & bottom...this is normal and is the way these are meant to be viewed.

Oh yeah just to add, it only says 16:9 not 16:9 widescreen. I'm guessing it makes no difference, anyhow the screen is definitely A LOT better and once again thank you.

Yes, it's just 16x9, glad to help, but do yourself a favour, replace the old Sky+ box with a SkyHD box connected by HDMI and you'll see a massive increase in picture quality.
