So like many people on this forum, I also read Groove's DIY floating wall thread and was inspired to copy his work :)
Incase you are unfamiliar with his work, here is a reminder (hope he doesn't mind me using his image...)

So off I set ordering all the new equipment hoping that it would be delivered the day I arrived home. (been in France for a couple months)
Ok, so Saturday 29.08.09 I arrived home and went straight to my local AV guy to pickup my latest kit..
    Marantz sr6003 AV Receiver
    B&W 704 fronts
    B&W HTM61 centre
    B&W ASW610xp sub
...first thing I did was hook everything up to test it all worked and take a pretty photo.
If you look carefully you will see the Marantz in the left of the cabinet, UPS in the centre above the wine and a small DVD collection in the right side.

Another pic. This one with the cabinet doors closed.

Last one with my old Celestian fronts being used as rears.

After waiting 3 days for the wood and MDF to arrive I was finally able to start with the frame last night (02.09.09). If you have a keen eye you may be able to spot a few mistakes I made... Not too much of a problem as it will all be covered up by the MDF.
    ...time will tell I guess.

Frame is up, and my brother doing... ah... site managing.

All good for an evening's work. But not bed time before test mounting the Plasma mount. (oh and the wood is not bent. That' just the wide angle effect from my camera)

    ...more pics to follow shortly.

I went home yesterday at lunch time to fit the rope lights and wait for the plasma to arrive.
First pic. Rope lights test fit.

Then later in the evening I got my brother to help me fit the MDF.
    That stuff is bloody heavy.
    Guess what movie is showing.
Come on its an easy one..

    Finally finished!
Wall is painted. (It's a little light in colour. Would have preferred it a little darker)
    TV is mounted, centered.
    Furniture back in Place.
Dimmer switch for rope lights in bottom corner.

    and a little further back..

Researching all the floating walls at the moment before i start on mine, where are your pictures and what type of dimmer did you use for the rope lights.

You'll have to wait until this evening before I can re-up my photos.
I got my dimmer from my local lighting and electrical store. To be honest I've never used it though. Full brightness on my rope lights has never been too bright. IMHO save the cash from the dimmer.
