I am no good at doing reviews so below is just my brief thoughts:

Now can someone come and kick Sting out of my living room, i'm scared he might try it on with the missus

    Mode CD Direct

    CD's used:

While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Various Artists

The Very Best of Sting and The Police 2002 edition

    Christina Aguilera - Stripped

First went through the setup on the Tag and after it had finished put While my guitar gently weeps in the philips 963sa.

    W O W

I thought these speakers where good at DV but belive me they are ten times better in my living room. The amount of detail they retrieve is class and the bass is superb too, well in my living room you could feel the bass from these things, so much so I thought the CHT15 was on and had to go check......It was off !!!!!

Next up was Sting and The Police OMG !!!

I really like the track An Englishman living in New York track 3 on this cd and found myself listening to it over and over and over and over in absoloute AWE

Again I had to check the CHT 15 was actually off

Track 7 Fields of Gold, again astounding

I listened to the Whole CD from begining to end with such a huge stupid grin on my face.
After the cd had finished it was back to track 3 over and over straight and upsampled to 192khz via the philips wow and bloody wow.

Later I then listened to Christina but had to do so at reduced volume Wifes orders

Again the detail just shone through and the Dyns just ate the bass for breakfast.

I am a very happy chap right now and can't wait to get the rear 3

    Bry

Yeah, I remember an earlier thread about you buying some a couple of weeks ago after a day with Uncle Eric. Do you think they will get any better as they are run in or are they already run in?

    Bry.

Good to hear the BM6A's are making a suitable impression.

These really are very good speakers.

Aren't you glad you didn't buy an inferior set of 3 rears now?

Good to hear you are enjoying them. Any new pics of the system then?:D

Need running in for 24 hours.

But honestly you wouldn't think so :)

So I guess yes they will get better but can't imagine it as they sound so good out the box.

They are Mordaunt Short 906's and they arn't expensive at £350 a pair.

They currently boxed up in the kitchen while I decide what to do with them.

I think theyre pretty damn good IMO but I don't like metal tweeters as they sound to bright to me.

I contemplated replacing the tweeters with softdomes as I liked the sound from the woofers so much.

In the end decided to upgrade instead.

The only speakers which use metal tweeters that I liked the sound from was Mackie HR624's.

The only metal dome tweeters that I like are the inverted titanium ones that JM Labs use in their speakers. We've got a pair of their 710's at home and they integrate with the mid/bass really well.

ED: Having said that the ones B&W use in theirs aren't all bad, especially the ones in the CDM NT's and Nautilus ranges.

Welcome to the club! I'm using three BM15s across the front and two BM5s in the rear.

So far as metal dome tweeters go, the only ones I've heard, liked and own are in Mk1 Epos ES14s. They brightened them up on the MkII and wrecked a brilliant speaker.

    Yes the 6's

They where great but they where way above my budget so I didn't listen for long.

I spent a lot more time with the other monitors.

I would deffinately recomend you go demo them.

Sorry can't be more help but like I say out of my budget :(

I think these where the best I heard that day but over 3K a pair

Thanks anyway, I'll probably be replaceing my Celestion C's at some point this year. I'll almost certainly be going for smallish active monitors. My room size and shape, coupled with the seating position make it very acoustically challenging, the Airs look ideal even if their price isn't :) I'll have to see if I can arrange a demo after my holiday at the end of the month.

They're interesting looking but way too big for my room, only 7ft wide

Please forgive me, I've heard these things and in the right room, which is a relatively big one, they are awesome. I reckon you'd need about 4metres wide at least.

PS at 7 foot wide, I reckon even the smaller Airs would have a problem.

They probably would but at least they have built in parametric EQ to help, or at least that is my hope.
