Yup, spotted this earlier, that wayne rooney program was in 16:9.

I still hate Sky for giving us 4:3 butchery for so long.

Sky One broadcast the S Club 7 and Hearsay programmes last Wednesday in 16:9, although the Hearsay programme had been braodcast previously in cropped 4:3 format.

Am I right in understanding that Sky One is going fully 16:9 sometime in July? These one-off programmes (produced by/for Sky One themselves) might just be experiments - things like Buffy, Angel and Enterprise are still broadcast in ridiculously cropped 4:3 with no pan and scan applied - hopefully they will be braodcasting more programmes in proper anamorphic widescreen in the future.

They probably won't go to the trouble or expense of getting new 16:9 masters of the current programming they have in 4:3, however all new shows and new seasons of existing shows should be broadcast in 16:9 if that version exists.
