    Here are pictures and a little diagram to show my speaker placement, what im trying to find out is if they are all postioned correctly. More importantly i would like to know what delay settings i need for each speaker.

    Should the rears be facing inwards to wards each other or towards the TV?

    I have a Yamaha A5 and it allows between 0 and 20ms for the rear, im not sure how much it allows for the centre.

    From the diagram below is it possible to identify the correct delay timings that i need from calculating the speed of sound ect?

    Cheers guys

    P.s. bonus points for guessing the film on the TV

    I would have put the rears higher up on the walls facing forwards.

    Front speakers are fine but as Strobe said you could do with some tinkering of the rears. For some reason or other I find it difficult to see pics clearly on my monitor but I think that you may have problems with your rears as if you face them forward they may be be too close to you and they don't seem to be well positioned at the moment.

    Are the rears facing each other? I'd play around with that if i were you....isn't that half the fun? :)

    I just swapped/upgraded my system to Kef Eggs, as the Wharfedale 8.2's as rears were just too big i felt, even with 2m-ish to the seating area.

    Nice setup there :thumbsup:

    Theoretically you should move the front left and right speakers forward 15cms so all are at the same distance from listening position and you should also use the same length speaker cable between these and the centre speaker.

    Not only will this eliminate timing between centre and fronts but will also help reduce boom from the floorstanders being too close to the wall :)

    I'd also spread them further apart - a guide is they should be a metre away from the TV - but 50-60 cms would do nicely in your case.

    Rears more of an obvious problem and you could do what i do to solve it by moving the sette forward when you want to watch TV with the amp - might also make you watch it a little less so you can take your lovely girlfriend out a little more ;)

    As others have said, they arn't ideally placed but with rear speakers that large maybe small (.5 mtre) stands for them on the floor and a little wider apart would be a good compromise.

    :)

    you should never face speakers directly at each other! it will sound awful

    Just face them outwards if thats the only place you can put them

    yep its T2 guys, the scene when the liquid metal guy walks towards the flames in the factory at the end

    T1 = Very good sound
    T2 = Very good special effects
    T3 = CRAP!

    I would personally mount the rears either side and up slightly higher on the walls, and widen the distance of the floorstanders to match them too

    and put your missus/sister in the correct listening position :laugh:

    p.s. the bird in T3 is muhasssively fit and T3 is a top movie anyway but arguably not as good as the DTS-ES 6.1 Ultimate version of T2.
