I'd go for another 512 ram also, lots of software is pretty ram hungry these days.

if you want to overclock that mobo isnt what you want. it dosnt have PCI/AGP lock. if your not into OC'in then you cant go far wrong with the Asus. i take it your ordering 2 sticks of 512mb as its abit confusing by your list

yes u can get them cheaper. ive said in another thread of your's. get a matched pair of 512mb Sticks. something like geil value or corsair value.

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/GeIL_Value.html

    look for GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 (GE1GB3200BHDC) (MY-005-GL) 2nd one down

    or

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Corsair_Value_Select.html

    Corsair 1GB DDR Value Select PC3200 CAS2.5 Kit (2x512MB) (MY-041-CS)

i know there wont be any compatability issues with the Asus mobo and teh Geil value ram as i have both  cant tell you wether the Corsair is compatable with the asus you will have to look that up

edit: the dual channel will not work with the Socket 754 but it dosnt matter only a 5 % increase and the ram is future proof if you go for a Socket 939 in the future.

I'd recomend going socket 939 too and I'd suggest spending an extra few quid on the graphics card too and get the Leadtek 6800 GT. It has more memory and will clock to ultra speeds no problem.:)It'll give your new system a bit more longevity in the games department and will make the whole experience more enjoyable. There is great satistfaction whacking the detail up to max and running resolutions of 1600x1200 with aa etc and everything running sweetly. Games have never looked so good:D
