Firstly.... I can't wait for this to arrive. I've been waiting weeks.

Now.... when I take this out of the box.... and I change all the settings for the running in period... Is the TV watchable with these settings ? I would prefer to use it straight away as my main TV, but understand I may have to put it in my study whilst I run it in.

Any help will be much appreciated.

no mate, it will be fine....you will probably find that the lower settings are right anyway even beyond the first hundred hours or so...otherwise you end up with artificialy bright showroom type images.

I agree mep, I was expecting to have to watch in the dark to be able to see any picture, but even with all settings just over 25% (screen still only 4 weeks old), it's still perfectly watchable. Salfordred, just take it out of the box in the room it's going to live, crank the settings down and enjoy. Well worth the wait.

You may also want to avoid watching movies in total darkness as it really highlights the brightness shift.

you might want to think of extending that run in period to 250 hours or 300 if you start to see logo retention. Mine needed more than a 100.

Glad you're getting your order through in the end Jim Fear. If you're anything like me, you've been chomping at the bit since ordering :D

I had mine about 50% from new, played games etc, watched with no lights on, no problems.

Had it about six months now, only seen contrast change once, no problems.
