It all started last year with a trip to comet, when i saw on display a thomson 42 Inch for £2500, a lot of money but after owning a 50 inch rear projection i had to have one the rear projection wouldnt go upstairs and i managed to get 10% of aswell.
After 1 month there were problems ,i had flickering from really dark scenes if there was a small amount of white on the screen, difficult to explain, and peoples skin looked really bad also a greying effect would happen if left ona dark scene ,dvd tv sky+ anything.
the engineer couldt find it but sent it to be reapired from Barron McCann.
    They left a loan screen,
exactually the same screen and this had the same problems.
    not good.
after many reapir attempts from Barron McCann and even damaging my tv sheared off a screw on the back scratched the front case etc i had enough.
Various phone calls over many weeks and finally i got a refund, and am buying what i should have got in the first place a decent pannasonic :D .
I have found thanks to this forum that early lg owners had exactually te same problem as me.
I could see the vents inside the baclk of my set and it was stckers saying LG

    makes you think..

anyway not too long to wait for a panasonic now

ps sorry for my crappy spelling.
hopefully it was just a 1 off from barran mcann

True........ Panny were unhappy with them every panny everything i went toi it was a major topic of conversation......... Which they promised they would sort.... I think they might open it up to some local specialists so you may get a choice in future... Also we almost always collected and packed the screen ourselves....... or had repairs done in our workshop.
