I have an upgraded Sony NW-HD1 and sometimes when I am running sonicstage (with or without other applications) my PC reboots and says "The system has recovered from a serious error." I have tried sending the error report to microsoft and have now generated an error report file so i can send a complete memory dump file when it happens again but at the moment microsoft have no solutions about the error.

The error signature is:

BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : B66E22B7 BCP3 : B5BEB928
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

I have tried versions 2.3, 3.0, 3.1 & 3.2 but the problem still persists. My operating system is Windows XP professional.

Obviously this problem is really annoying because I never know when it is going to happen and I am bound to lose some work sooner or later.

Does anyone know any causes/solutions? I would be extremely grateful.

Does it happen only with SS, or did it happened with other software.
Computer rebooting very often is caused by overheating of one of the units, or fault Power Supply Unit (too weak for configuration).

Give full specification of Your PC, maybe We will sort this out?

Make sure that you have your computer set to not automatically reboot if it suffers a serious error.
Right click on My Computer then click on Proprties and then on the Advanced tab. Click on the settings button in the Startup and Recovery section then uncheck the option for Automatically Restart.
That will stop the computer from rebooting on every serious error, but won't cure the problem.

This problem could be due to defective RAM. Also, try a registry cleaner. RegSeeker works pretty good since it backups.
