I moved in December and had a full upgrade , as it was open plan living I gave up and sold on my optoma hd33 projector for a 65" tv and new speakers

      IMG_6604.jpg

      First attempt

      IMG_6603.jpg

Found a lovely stand after a long search with a built in arm

6 months later I go and see Spider-Man with a mate and all I'm thinking all the way through is I miss my big screen so this is what I have been up to tonight

      IMG_8054.jpg

      IMG_8055.jpg IMG_8062.jpg
      IMG_8061.jpg

106" grand view screen and I have run cables through the ceiling for the first time ever I was worried it wouldn't work and it took some time but it's done and I'm very happy with the results so far just need to tidy it up

Luckily the beams run the correct way and there is one inline with the centre of my screen

Ready for my 4k optoma uhd550x projector that's on order [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

I've made do tonight with my optoma ml750 portable projector that I take on the road with me for hotel rooms and to be far it throws a lovely image for such a small led projector

      IMG_8065.jpg

Had to watch bttf, I've missed the feeling of the big screen so much , TVs just don't do it

Been busy today getting all the cables nice and neat , love the plates with the brushes so simple but tidy , everything is in place for the projector that should arrive this week as amazon has taken the funds from my bank today , I'm not putting up the ceiling mount till the projector arrives to make sure it's placed perfectly in the centre of the screen

Very proud of myself getting the cables through the walls [emoji4]

Still have to sort the wires behind the screen but not until every thing is in so I can move them around and the screen hides the from view 99% of the time

      Man sounds familiar.
I'm having a discussion with my gf about those projector screens.
I can't have a roll projectorscreen, it needs to be fixed on the wall which is ugly in a living room or i need to use a tv.
But i prefer to have a roll projector instead D:.

      A little update

The projector is up , loving the 4k images I had to upgrade my amp as my onkyo 808 was not 4k and it worked ok with my tv with arc but I had enough cable swapping so I changed to an onkyo 676 and it's brilliant that everything just works together nicely, then I thought oh it's got atmos I'll have a bit of that so when the wife was out on Saturday I installed ceiling speakers [emoji344] and it's impressive

Very nice setup. How did you get on with the speaker wiring? Was it easy enough to thread through to the amp? Great to get recognition from Optoma by the way.

I was lucky as the joists ran the correct way for me to thread the cables from the projector and speakers directly to behind my projector screen then they run along the back of it in to the cupboard under the stairs then back out of the bottom to the amp

      IMG_8098.jpg

Used a fish hook cable puller to pull the wires and it all went well , it's scary cutting holes the first time , but one you know how the joists run it's easy , that's how I ended up with atmos , I never would of dreamed about cutting huge holes for speakers before

There also tidy now , this photo was taken during the install

Good , they look nice , very easy to install

Not watched much apart from the atmos demo disk and it really does improve the sound stage

Your in the sound instead of it being around you is the best way to explain it ,the dts x object demo is impressive

Finally managed to get them in! The missus was pissed but she's easily subdued with a gift or 2 haha. Have you got any more plans for your setup?
Finally managed to get the av unit painted as well, will definitely pay someone to put the cornice up in future, not worth the ballache!

Would love to achieve something similar to this. How is the projector working in your bright room and out of curiosity what paint did you us to paint the wall behind the TV and projector?

Projector works lovely , blacks would be better with a darker room but it’s not spoiling the experience

The paint is normal white paint from the builders as it’s a new build
      Nothing special

Small update , I considered buying another svs sub to even out my setup as there was a huge space next to my left speaker [emoji344]

I can’t use my 1 sub fully as it’s so loud so 2 would be over kill and cost a lot

Then I found this little black Ash coffee [emoji477]️ table at Argos for £15

Just hope the wife does not start putting things on it
