Took the plunge and got the Denon DVD-5910 with the new Denon AVR-5805...YEAH. Still in the box as I have my root canal done today(ouch)

Please feel free to post feeback and comment here about it.

oh, on a sidenote, I am trying to sell my Denon AVR-5803, what price do you think is good for it? Excellent condition, of course.

    thanks and regards

Connect both firwire and denon link to the amp.
In the player when you select denon link choose 2nd (1394).
In the amp set DVD to denon link and for the no signal set I1.

Does the 5910 have HDMI support?
The 3910 has a firmware update for it that allows surround sound through HDMI. (up from 2.0)

Also, your player wont be multyregion out of the box, youl probably have to wait for a Multy Region firmware!

Still, im sure its a very good player. Let us know how the picture compares to the 3910 and other players of that calibre.
I have to say though, you may very well have the best DVD player on the market. Anybody know of a better model?

The 5910 is the US/CA equivalent of the Denon A1XV.

There a plenty of threads on it over at AVS forums, and a couple on the A1XV around here.

Sorry I meant does it have HDMI surround sound suport?

I know it has an HDMI output, I just wonder if it also handles 5.1 sound or if it needs a firmware update like the 3910 needed one?

According to the manual the A1XV can output DVD Video, Dolby/DTS Bitstream and DVD Audio via HDMI. There are several options for setup depending on the system you want to connect to. :)
