Very nice! What's the size and weight like? How fast does it focus? Perfect for portraits during the party-season, as you should be OK to use this in pretty low-light conditions without the flash...

Chunder: Feels about the same weight as my Sigma 17-70 and has a solid build. Haven't had a chance to play with it much, but hope to take a few portrait shots over the xmas season. I notice camera shake alot more with this lens so got to learn to steady my hands a bit more lol.

Suits Me: Nice lens you got there. Is it f1.2? Like the label "restricted to professional users" ... leaves me out ;)

:hiya: BananaTiger : The Canon 58mm f1.2 belongs to a '58 Canonflex RM and the SMC f1.8 to a Spotmatic F - I must confess I always a Asahi fan and still have an original S1 and ES and ES11 complete with 50mm and 100mm Macro's and M. and Auto Bellows with Scales :boring:

My apologies for hijacking your thread and "restricted to professional users" applies to me too, in spades :)

lol :rotfl: For some reason I thought they were the same lens. I blame having a late night last night for screwing up my vision :D

Good choice of lens. A bargain for the performance you get.

I've got one of these puppies waiting for me, alongside a 100mm 2.8 macro, out in Oregon.

Just got to fly 7000 miles first, then I'll get my hands on them!
