Well I think it's finally finished. I wanted to share it with you guys first... my bretheren.:D

So, without further ado I present to you all my Streaming Light Theme. You will need MC Studio to import the theme and then download the theme from my skydrive here.

Version 1.01 is now available for download.

Version 1.02 is now available for download - This fixes the no channel number on TV being displayed whilst switching TV Channels.

I've changed the details main body pane so it is more solid and doesn't interfere with background text. It's not perfect at the moment but a quick fix as I'm still working on it so it will look more natural and blend better with the top bar and the stream of light at the bottom.

Please feel free to comment and use this thread for improvements or suggestions.

    Hope you enjoy it.

    Sorry Davey.
Whilst you have my admiration and thanks for all you have done for me (and probably hundreds, if not thousands, of other forum members) I am afraid that this theme just doesn't really excite me.

But keep up the good work mate.

Thanks for the kind words, if you find anything that niggles you, just shout.

That's absolutely fine mate and no hard feelings, lets face it if we were all the same and had the same tastes, it would be a pretty boring world. Maybe the next one might make you moist:D who knows.

It was basically a first attempt, to try and get used to the interface and how to integrate colour along with a black background, to get my feet wet so to speak. I think that works, now it's time to get a little more ambitious.:smashin:

    Dave that is amazing

Quick question though if you will, how did you get a 'Games' option in Media Center?

Currently im using VMC and have integrated some themes using MC Studio but cannot seem to edit it to allow the the loading of my PC games. I followed your previous thread 'Launch any app from within 7MC' on how to use it, but MC Studio crashes everytime I try to add a 'Games' entry point.

A hint in the right direction would be great :)

I think apple used something similar to show off the new ipod nano colours. I can always add a sony logo to remind you :rotfl: just kidding, i'd be breaching some law somewhere.

mmmmm, this is a tough one, I don't use Vista anymore, since about april this year. Does Vista have games section in the start menu orb where all your games are shown, this is where MC Studio takes them from when you select a game app, Then you can edit your game save it, then click on the start menu tab and expand the bottom apps window and drag and drop.

Wow - nice work, Davey. I downloaded MCEStudio some time back, but I sort of assumed it would come with some themes, or just allow you to laod the default theme. I can't be bothered to fiddle on my own themes.

Is there anywhere that people post their own themes?

To be honest, my initial reaction of yours was that it was a little.... garish (not sure that's what I mean, but it's the nearest I can get), but actually it was just the "shock" of seeing something different! I particularly like how you've treated the info panes (showing the synopsis over the top of E4 on your screenshots). Personally, I think that is a bit of a backwards step in 7MC - they always look a bit unfinished, AND they're not that stunning on usability.

Just wanted to repeat my thanks for this gorgeous skin for MC. I have it on my laptop, and plan to install it on my HTPC when i do a fresh install. It's immeasurebly better looking than the bog standard skin.

Big plus for your theme. well done.
Just wondering if you could change the picture at
    "now playing (picture 9)" ?
the background doesn't seem to be a bit choppy.

    greetz,

Do you mean, not as Hi-Res as the rest of the images.

I agree, I do need to spend more time tweaking, but only when the feedback is available from the likes of yourself, so not a problem, I will sort this at the weekend and release 1.03.

Cheers and thanks for the kind words

    Dave

    great work on the skin!

Quick question though, with Mediabrowser I use the default skin which is basically the same as the generic blue skin of Windows 7 Media Center, IF i applied this skin would that then also affect mediabrowser as long as I keep mediabrowser with the default skin?

No, mediabrowser will use its own skins depending on what theme you select from the plugins and how you configure their priorities. This MCE Theme is completely independent from Mediabrowser. :smashin:

offtopic and a rather old thead too - but what do/did you do to get the Bluray/DVD menu there? Still looking for reasonable prices Bluray software that incorporates with Mediacenter.
