I currently have an Epson tw10h
have been using an ikea 6ft black out blind..pretty good but a few creases..so
Went to a timber merchant for a 6ft piece of MDF 6mm
The sheets come in 8ftx4ft,i was going to have it cut but thought naaaa
So screwed it to the wall, painted it matt white
And quite impressed even at 8ft wide, odd time i can see the pic structure
But picture and colours are v.good
I done a good job of painting it so no streaks/runs..lol
    Total cost £10.10p delivered
cannot see any reason to go for a "proper" screen
hope this helps all you thinking about it

Hey 3804, thanks for the post, must admit to wanting to try this as it would really sort out the image being square and true (which I am having trouble with) however concerned about weight? is the screen heavy? also how did you paint? spray or roller?

    Cheers

The screen not too heavy for the size ,i only used 4 screws along top and 4 at the bottom
I used a roller and put a couple of coats on
    with no problems
