Apologies to all the repeat posts. Just wanted to thank the guys that inspired me and helped making some decisions along the way.
Things I'm still waiting on for 100% completion.
Wall lights
Some nice seating arrangement
Atmos ready receiver - held off until all the big names became hdcp2.2 compliant as I didn't want to get stitched when it's 4k upgrade time in a few years.
The room is 8'8" by 17'10". The screen has about 2 inches space left either side so JUST fit in
I was planning on having 2 pairs of seats with the rear raised on a platform similar to PhilLFC's layout which inspired me to do do all you can see.
Unfortunately I quickly realised that with the screen size, the front two seats would be too close so I'm planning on having either 3 single seats next to each other or just one longer couch. There are just three of us, me and my two little uns that use the room so it will do. Obviously I'll take the centre seat
The other thing is I've put 7.1.2 speakers in so the left and right surround positions would only have worked correctly for one of the two pairs of seats if I'd gone the 2x2 route
The room as it was previously.
I think it was originally planned to be a garage but, from new, was turned into a second lounge and a garage was built at the back of the house.
Ok. Build log. Started a long time ago but life got in the way.
So.. Bought this place with the 2nd lounge, or family room as it was billed, as per previous pics. Immediately thought it would be great to keep a 'normal' lounge and have, at last, a dedicated home theatre.
I've had projector and surround setups in my previous lounges but this was a chance to have the dream
Started running speaker cables and hdmi cable for the projector and soon realised I was running before walking!
Needed to sit down and plan the layout.....as well as lighting!!!
So got on CAD and drew it all up.
Yes. I did measure and model every single joist!!!
So began more cable running and buying more speakers. Ended up getting two sets of KEF 3005se's because you couldn't buy the 2 satellite speaker package by the time I chose them
7.1 it was!
Roll on 12 months. Reasons all being life related and Atmos was making a noise. Well. Would be rude not to right?
So more speaker cable and more spending cash. Put some reinforcement wood in to give the speakers a solid mount
The front wall, as per pics had a window so decided, in an attempt to make my life easier and to add some soundproofing, to keep the window but stud the wall out and add insulation.
Plasterboard ripped out and wiring routed!
Decided to run 2 cat6e's upstairs, 2 to the back of the room for media server and a spare and 2 along with the hdmi to the projector (thanks all for that advice)
