I actually did this some years ago when I got fed up of having to turn the vloume down when watching films in the lounge!
The garage adjoins the house and is a walk thru from the kitchen so was ideal for conversion.
I did all the DIY work myself which included wiring, insulating, plasterboarding the walls and ceiling and of course decorating.
It has had several screens in there but the latest and best is the Sharp 70" LED/LCD which I bought last month.

Thanks it is ideal for just two people and as it is pretty well insulated i can watch/listen at any vloume or time that I like!
it was never really used as a garage anyway so I thought I may as well make it useful.

    The gear is as follows:

    Sharp Aquos 70" screen
Sony STRDB 1080 receiver (actually 10 years old now but still decent 6.1)
    Sony blu-ray player
    Speakers are all Gale items
Sub is an Aiwa active item
    sony CD and tape deck

yes it's very very good, one thing I really like is how inky black the top/bottom bars are on movies that don't fill the screen, a lot better than on my optoma projector and saphire screen where those bars are just dark grey.

Out of interest, what is the finished size of your room please, width, length, height.

Good job by the way, nice and cosy. :)

    Kind regards

    Linx

You can never have enough hand guns on your wall either ;)

Thanks, the room is 15ft long by 8 ft wide and 7ft high so just enough for a two seat cinema.
