Hello all. I am 28 years old and two years ago I bought a house with my wife for the first time. When we got it I immediately earmarked the attic space for retro gaming and my wife was happy to oblige as it kept it out of her hair! Over the past two years I have been collecting various consoles to add to my collection. Thus far I have:
5 HD tellys and one crt bought brand new from China
Dreamcast with hdmi adaptor
N64 with rgb mod and everdrive
Psone with lcd screen
Ps2 slim
Ps2
Super retro trio
Gameboy pocket
Five gameboy advance sp including one with backlight 101 screen
Three gameboy colours one gbc everdrive
Two gameboy advance one gba everdrive
Four nintendo ds lite
Psp
Ps vita
Sega mega drive 1
Sega mega drive 2 with everdrive
Sega master system
Sega Cd 2
Sega saturn
Xbox
4 Xbox 360 (for multiplayer)
Atari 2600 Jr
Atari 7800
PS3
PS4
Wii
Wii u
Snes with everdrive
Gamecube
Neo geo x (not the greatest console but I got it for £50 off eBay so happy with that)
Asus revo one PC
I also have some Nintendo memorabilia around the room like a Nintendo chess board, some old gaming magazines and various lights and a few posters on the walls. My ultimate aim is to get some proper stairs built instead of a ladder and to have proper carpets as it doesn't look the best at the moment but I'm pleased with what I've achieved so far. My questions are:
Is there any other systems you would recommend? I'm not planning to add any more at the moment but possibly for the future I was looking at a collecovision but I heard they are poorly made also some of the UK based machines like the spectrum or the amiga. Are they worth my time?
I have some collectable games, mostly for the gamecube like fire emblem, twilight princess and ikaruga but I'm not sure what console to collect for next. Some of the cd based games look good like the saturn or the psone. What do you reckon?
Are there any other cool suggestions you think would go well in a room like this? I'll try to take some pictures later to give you an idea of what it's like. For now I only have some pictures of the posters. I know I have to get rid of the curtains...
Any ideas or links much appreciated!
