Hello all. I am 28 years old and two years ago I bought a house with my wife for the first time. When we got it I immediately earmarked the attic space for retro gaming and my wife was happy to oblige as it kept it out of her hair! Over the past two years I have been collecting various consoles to add to my collection. Thus far I have:

5 HD tellys and one crt bought brand new from China
Dreamcast with hdmi adaptor
N64 with rgb mod and everdrive
Psone with lcd screen
Ps2 slim
Ps2
Super retro trio
Gameboy pocket
Five gameboy advance sp including one with backlight 101 screen
Three gameboy colours one gbc everdrive
Two gameboy advance one gba everdrive
Four nintendo ds lite
Psp
Ps vita
Sega mega drive 1
Sega mega drive 2 with everdrive
Sega master system
Sega Cd 2
Sega saturn
Xbox
4 Xbox 360 (for multiplayer)
Atari 2600 Jr
Atari 7800
PS3
PS4
Wii
Wii u
Snes with everdrive
Gamecube
Neo geo x (not the greatest console but I got it for £50 off eBay so happy with that)
Asus revo one PC

I also have some Nintendo memorabilia around the room like a Nintendo chess board, some old gaming magazines and various lights and a few posters on the walls. My ultimate aim is to get some proper stairs built instead of a ladder and to have proper carpets as it doesn't look the best at the moment but I'm pleased with what I've achieved so far. My questions are:

Is there any other systems you would recommend? I'm not planning to add any more at the moment but possibly for the future I was looking at a collecovision but I heard they are poorly made also some of the UK based machines like the spectrum or the amiga. Are they worth my time?

I have some collectable games, mostly for the gamecube like fire emblem, twilight princess and ikaruga but I'm not sure what console to collect for next. Some of the cd based games look good like the saturn or the psone. What do you reckon?

Are there any other cool suggestions you think would go well in a room like this? I'll try to take some pictures later to give you an idea of what it's like. For now I only have some pictures of the posters. I know I have to get rid of the curtains...

Any ideas or links much appreciated!

Quite liked the Atari Lynx, played California Games for hours back in the day.
Good shout! What is the build quality like? My other plan is to get the top twenty games for each system- may be difficult for some systems like the saturn which would wipe me out financially!

Fantastic collection you have there :smashin:. Have you thought about the PC Engine?

Here are a few other photos.

The view when I'm standing in my attic shows how careful I have to be. I can't drink too much up there!

Also thanks to my av forum secret santa for the pacman light!

And a few more. I definitely need a better unit to store the games. If anyone has any ideas then let me know!

I have no idea, ive only ever played PC Engine on emulators sorry.
I will look into it. Any games you recommend? The bonk series is meant to be decent I think and I'm guessing they have some bullet hell shooters.

The best bit were the units I got for the consoles. The biggest one is solid and was hell to get up there but I was chuffed to get it for £30- it's got to be worth at least three times that. The other ones I got as freebies off Gumtree except the little ikea one that I bought for about a fiver. Many of the consoles were cheap too like the gameboy pocket that a bloke chucked in for free when I bought his beat up psp for £10 or the sega Cd that only cost me £50 but I'm told is worth a fair bit more. I love bargain hunting, I'll never pay full price except for the snes mini which I have two on preorder :)

Yeah the Bonk games are good, Dracula X, Strider, AirZonk, Devils crush, cadash, parasol stars, liquid Kids, splatterhouse. Then you have some great shmups including R-type, Gradius, lords of thunder, blazing lasers, gates of thunder, parodius and soldier blade.

You are definitely convincing me. I now have to find somewhere that sells one whilst avoiding the overpriced ones that aren't compatible over here on eBay...
