This is my humble front room.

My previous setup was a Panasonic PDP VT, with a 5.1.2 Atmos setup.

I've since upgraded the TV to a Panasonic OLED, Denon x4400, Panasonic 4K 820 BD player, Amazon Fire 4K stick, Focal Aria centre speaker, Focal Sib Atmos speakers for rear surround and up firing Atmos and SkyQ.

I have front heights def tech pro speakers and focal sib Atmos up firing at the rear, with all the other bits detailed in my signature!

I will be changing the front heights in the corner to Focal Dome or Sib and will be relocated at the top of the Chimney breast, and this will be in the New Year at some point.

Cracking set up you got there ! , what film sounds best in your opinion with the system your rocking ??
What other material do you listen to in Atmos ??

The cable going to the center channel would drive me nuts.

Other than that, very nice.
Thanks but you really don’t notice the cable after a while. The cable goes up through the chimney and to the side, where the AVR is situated. So, it’s pretyy decent cable hiding :)

Thanks, it’s taken some serious saving up and have upgraded as I’ve gone along.

The best Atmos track is blade runner 2049 4k, and the new ant wasp in 4k sounds really good. In fact, most BDs sound amazing, but I think it’s down to setting up right, and speaker location is key. The Atmos front heights, could be better located, which I’m doing in the NY; it all sounds well though!

I tell a lie, I’ve just upgraded to this bad boy, the UB9000!

Is there a difference between the 820 and 9000?
Picture qaulity it’s the same as the 820, as all BD players are with all the processing switched off and as such, should be the only way to display as the director intended. sound qaulity on audio for CDs, yes and is the main reason for upgrading.

The build qaulity is amazing, it’s very heavy and solid unlike the 820.

If you just want it for BDs, then the 820 has all the same picture settings and qaulity!

Thanks good to know. Nice setup btw. Where did you get your Atmos speakers from?

Thanks, I like it very much!

The focal sib Atmos I use for rear Atmos, I found on amazon.

The front height speakers are old surrounds I used prior and are definitive technology pro monitor 800s, and they sound really good. However, I will be upgrading these to the focal dome or sib and will move them to the top of the chimney breast, but this will need some cable manegement into the plaster, or I’ll have to drill into the chimney were the coving is and run the cables down there. Either way, it will make a mess!

Agree with regard to Bladerunner 2049 - awesome soundtrack !
