Hello
I’ve gone through about half a dozen freesat remotes, because they always stop working after 6 months and they stop sending a signal to the TV.
For some bizarre reason, the buttons keep wearing out(see pic below) !!
Has anyone else had the same problem? Isn’t there any other type of remote control that will actually last -and -work? Thanks in advance

Is it possible to switch to a free view box or is this technically very difficult to do?
And how am I to know whether Grundig was good or no good??...I’m not an electronic equipment specialist, so there is no way I could know,Rodders,

I have the nails of Fred Krueger, & they seriously destroy things all the time if I'm not careful.
Try using the meaty part of your finger pad instead of touching with your fingernail.

Also, get a sleeve for the remote if you can.

It took me a minute to see the scratches I was putting all around the knobs on my Rickenbacker bass & I've well scratched up the little spot where you insert your hand to open the automobile door.

I don’t touch with my fingernails lol, which are actually VERY short and are regularly trimmed!

I'm close to giving up on this whole saga and declaring troll.....

Model number of Grundig box please... Is it a recorder or just a receiver. (I suspect the latter).
Have you fixed the connection/cable issue with it yet?

Model number of the connected Panasonic TV please. Does the TV receive Freeview?

NB Google the device and read user reviews on sites like this before buying any technology; and you'd have found that these old established brand names had been sold off... and that the brand is no longer what it was last Century.

Grundig GUFSAT02SD Freesat SD Digital Satellite TV Receiver Set Top Box + Remote 5052619084174 | eBay the remote looks different to yours so a different model stb?

Sorry I’ve actually told you the model make and number...it’s a Grundig SD freesat box. That’s the only information on the box!...
I’m not a troll *** just a guy who is pretty clueless about digital technology and hence that’s why I’m asking for help here!!!!
Q

Photo the label on the bottom wit serial number. See the pictures on that ebay listing...

It WILL have the model number...

Answer the other questions, too.

You are far too defensive ... you've graunched those buttons and to repeatedly do so is worse than careless. No technical knowledge is needed to find the user manual, shop receipt or look on the back and bottom of the box for a label...

sorry but when the buttons repeatedly go it’s the fault of people manufacturing cheap and throwaway remote controls NOT my fault!!...of course I’m defensive when ppl just criticise and blame INSTEAD of being constructive and sympathetic to my situation. If there is a troll here it’s people like you who act all arsey and just criticise and blame.
I’m leaving this forum I don’t need this from unsympathetic who seem to enjoy pushing my buttons rather than helping!!!!!
