Excellent... got two games with it, Project Gotham Racing & Halo.

Project Gotham Racing is class. I love the feature that lets you rip your own CD to the hard drive and then play it mid-race :D

Our Halo's seal was broken but we didn't realise till we got home, and the disc didn't work. It had scratches all over it.

It sounds good even just in stereo... the optical leads had sold out at every shop we tried

Anyway can't wait to get Halo replaced today, that is the game I was really looking forward to.

    Got mine on Friday.

Went for Halo and Jet Set Radio Future. Halo is superb and I'm addicted - JSRF looks amazing and plays really well.

My first reaction was how noisy the machine is (anyone else ?) although you don't notice this when playing. Using Svideo and phono's at the moment but I have an advanced AV pack on order.

Overall very good and looks good on the hifi rack

Crud. Mine should be showing up any day now, but I got a bundled pack with an extra controller. Looks like I might have to trade one in for the new S controller. But, I'll wait until I've played it before making my decision.

As for being noisy, I guess I'll live with it. My Dreamcast was bloody noisy, but it still had the best games around.

Great machine - but yes it's noisey. Get use to it though....cheap fan I guess and hard disk spin noise. Small price to pay when it is so much better than PS2....

The new controller is excellent. I was struggling with the larger pad, particularly in a long session so I got one of the import pads - fantastic. Surprised they didn't release it here from day one.

    I am currently playing:

Halo - going through on co-op - this game just gets better and better.
Rallisport Challenge - I prefer this to Project Gotham even though I was a huge fan of MSR on the DC. Maybe I need to give it a little time.
JSRF - I could just sit and watch this game.
Amped - WAHHHH. I go from thinking this is the best game ever made to the most f**king frustrating game ever.

Championship Manager - this arrived in the post today so I can say goodbye to my life!

Bought mine yesterday, looks fabulous on my Hitachi 43 inch rear pro!

Sounds great too, although I haven't used it with DD just yet (need a specialist AV cable - could have told me that in the shops!).

Bought it for £244 from Toys R Us with Halo, NHL Blitz and Shrek. Halo is absolutely stunning. The AI is incredible and the graphics are a step up from Half Life (so they should be 3 years later). First level sets the scene nicely and gunning down aliens has never been so much fun! For me, the controller is absolutely perfect, although the girlie complained a bit whilst playing Shrek.

Shrek and NHL Blitz are perfect to dip in and out of. Both games sport great graphics and sound. NHL blitz is great if you are after a less - than - serious simulation with some mates. I also like Shrek, although that proves I'm really quite childish (according to the reviewers).

All in all, I'm really very pleased. The box itself is massive at first and takes some getting used to

Bough mine on Friday after playing Halo on my mates machine. Waiting for him to order halo through the offer so have had to make do with a demo disk.

When first switching on I also found it a bit noisy but as soon as you start playing you can't hear it. Bought an Advanced pack from PC world (of all places !) and sounds excellent through my amp. On the Dead or Alive 3 the intro looks fantastic (36" Tosh via S-video) and the sound of the waterfalls going from the front speakers to the rear is great.

Any one else copied an audio cd to the hard disk - thought I'd try a disk just to see how it sounded. Took blinking ages to copy though. It has a progress bar and it moved so slowly I thought it had bust !

Noticed also that it didn't play a CDR of normal audio - suspect therefore that it doesn't play MP3s.

overall very pleased (and I'm dying to get my hands on Halo !)

Mine showed up today (with Halo and DOA3). Can't wait to dig into it. I think I'm also going to pick up JSRF. If the DC version is anything to go by, this should be amazing.

It is noisy, but like you all say, unnoticable when your playing.
