    hi there
    after looking at this board for many months, i now feel i am beggining to get slightly to terms with the world of projectors and am keen to take the plunge,

    like the look of the new Sanyo Z2 however the room i want to use it in is approx 21ft by 18ft with the walls being about 16 or 17 feet apart.
    will i have problems placing the pj on a shelf on one wall and projecting onto the wall opposite, i.e too big a picture size?
    ive looked at doing the calculations but it looks to give too big a picture with over 8ft image diag.
    any suggestions????
    ive been politely requested not to ceiling mount it !!!
    :rolleyes:

    many thanks on my first post
    alex

    How about putting it on a coffee table? You can put it away when you've finished with it then. You may have to do something about running the cable to it though.

    Oh, and welcome to the forum! :)

    with the lens shift, you could put it on the side wall, and shift the image to the left or right to get the image where you want it.

    That would let you have the projector closer to the 'image' wall to get the right size, but still have it on the wall.

    I think you can adjust the image to be one whole screen width to the right or left. So if you want a 6ft wide image, you could have this up to 6ft from the edge of the wall.

    eg,

    <-6ft---><---6ft.------->
    -----------==========------------------
    |/////////..................../
    |///////................../
    |//////............../
    |/////........./
    |///....../
    |/.../
    PJ
    |
    |

    Apparantly it can do this without affecting the image.

    I interpret differently, i interpret that the lens cannot be actually beyond the edge of the screen.......

    The image shift is half the image left or right and one image up or down. :lesson: :)
