    Hi

    I need your help:

I´m trying to import songs to iTunes from the " Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl " and I´m getting a message that´s something like :

" .... Your have inserted a Blank CD .... if you want to burn ... blah blah... "

    ?????

This is a legit cd and plays perfectly in my CD/DVD Player.

    What is going on ?

    Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's a CD?, and not a protected audio data disc?. I would just try cleaning it. Does it work in other media players on your pc?, if yes then re-install i-tunes, if not then take it back to the shop if you got it recently.

I get this all the time with copied cd's, some of them take me like ten attempts to get my drive to recognise that it's not a blank disc.

After several attemps worked on my Dvd drive ( previously I was trying on my CD-R Drive ).

Do you usually get unrecognizable legit Cds on your iTunes?

I've never had a problem with iTunes recognising CDs although sometimes some CDs have extra software on which tries to install itself and slows the whole process down.

There are some CD's that your computer wont recognise. For example I tried to burn the first Kings Of Leon CD on to my I-pod. However the bloody record company have done something to stop you copying it.
I am sure there are a few others like this.

Due to this I have deliberately not bought their second album as I want to put all of my music on my i-pod.

Quite often if you look at reviews on Amazon for CDs they normally state if there's some kind of protection. If there is I (like gerbilly said) refuse to buy them.

Queen on Fire is copy protected.

I managed to rip the tracks to Mp3 using windows media player 10 however.

    You could try that.

Is it not usually a Sony label that cause this too? I seem to recall reading that somewhere!

I think you are right captain, yet another reason not to buy Sony.

mmm, thanks. Evidence via problems I have had suggest that it is Sony or 'Sony affiliate' labels that cause problems which stands to reason as they are pushing their own format/mp3 player etc.

    Pete.
