Hello there,

I hope you can help me decide what dslr to get.

I've been looking at Nikon d3000, Canon 1000d, Olympus e-450 and Olmypus e-520. What would you suggest for my first Dslr? I'm looking for something thats easy to operate, print normal pictures, and can grow on me.

Would need help to deicide what to go for.

Cheers,

I would recommend getting to a camera shop and trying them in your hand; they all have pretty similar features so how they feel to you to use is actually far more important.

What Pete said, go to a shop and have a feel for them, I myself got the 1000d as my first DSLR and I love it, but I know that a lot of people are big fans of the Nikkon, I got mine just before the D3000 came out so that wasn't an option for me, seems like a great camera though!

get the one that feels most comfortable for you , if you can stretch to it and it feels ok i would go for the 450D over the 1000D , nothing wrong with the 1000D , its just the 450D has a couple of features that imo are worth the extra :)

The Nikon D5000 is another to consider though £100 more than the D3000

Maybe best to get yourself a cheap 2nd hand camera to start with and build your lens collection around which make you decide to use Nikon/Canon/Sony/Olympus, remember the lens can be the deciding factor in the quality of your photos, besides the togger & body. :smashin:
