My Epsom 740wont print text?

It prints colour okay but wont print text or black. It has a colour cartridge and a black one.Have changed the black,no difference.
Looks like the black nozzle may be blocked, any ideas.
Have tried the head cleaning utility a few times as well.....nothing.
Can you diy clean it or is it a new printer?

Can you get spares online?

Call Epson, if they can't find out what's up over the phone, they might just have it fixed for you within a few weeks! My photo 1270 died a while back, due to a faulty cartridge, and that was fixed in a few days, and a few years before that, a stylus iis went belly up for no reason, and they just replaced it with a new stylus 440 after they lost the fixed unit in the post! Both were out of warranty.

Give them a call, you have nothing to lose (except your mind having to queue about 10 mins for a customer service rep listening to dire hold music)

Here is a must have program for all epson owners.

You can set all sorts of cleaning options including cleaning the black ink head only. You can also reset the ink levels as some suggest there is still 20% left when it shows empty.

Really is a great little freeware program.:smashin:
