Charlie Mermaid retro by Neil Hinder, on Flickr
lovely shot in it's own right but doesn't appear moody to me - but I suppose you know her better than me....
Look at the lighting its all moody so's that face.
I'll be honest much prefer the b&w one with window light in the photo sharing section, much more moody lighting just needed the moody expression and it would of been spot on, IMHO.
Dont be honest just lie
I like this the model looks moody to me. Not to keen on the background it reminds me of wall paper my Grandmother had (but that is just my personal view as I did not like her wall paper when I was a kid)
Haha Gemit it was gold and mirrored was awful lol
Not feeling this one I'm afraid Neil, the lighting/processing on her face is too dark for me compared to the rest of the shot. Charlotte Mermaid (5) is a much better pic IMO, in fact I prefer all the others tbh, sorry (yes I know they all don't fit the theme, but (5) does for me )
I had stuck all the others on here hence why I used this one. I couldn't stick them up in other places and enter them didn't think it was right
Did have a nice panaroma I wanted to enter but it was huge and didn't want to be disqualified lol
No size limit no apparently I've not checked your facebook thread yet so not seen it. Will get around to it later
No worries I don't think it's on there just Mermaids. I need to add the holiday pics on. There is still a limit on the rules page. If this isn't the case the rules need updating
it's only a limit on the inline shot - click-through can point to full res.
Not according to the rules
"5: Photos must be a maximum of 1280 pixels against the longest side including any border and no more than 300KB for attached pictures or 500KB for those hosted elsewhere this rule must be adhered to or else the photo may be disallowed."
I know from a previous discussion with Zone that the size limit has been scrapped though so just needs updating
Doesn't contradict what I said....
Oh, were you suggesting that he could've just posted a link then?
Nope - I was saying that the rule listed allows you to post a link to the inline image (which must/should meet the requirements) but that the image that the click-through on it takes you to can be as big as you like.....
I really like the colour portrait of Charlotte, but this one I find the lighting seems off - there's a highlight on her stomach area, whilst her face is is in relative shadow with the processing bringing out uneven tones.
As previously stated I couldn't enter any from before due to showing people on here on another thread so had to pick another and j wanted to do the panoramic but it was against rules
I think I'm on the same page now lol. So what you're saying is you can upload the full res to flickr, then choose a BBcode with the smaller res? The only question with this would be is how big the actual file size is as flickr only gives you the res?
That's not what the rules say. Entries must be a certain size
Depends how you interpret it I guess. You could have the full res on Flickr and just post a version from the BBcodes that fits into the 1280max width. Question is file size though as I've already said, but I've also mentioned that Zone has said that there aren't any limits any more,...... IIRC
Unless the rules are changed I'm not sure I can submit a file that's 22860 x 2000 lol
No but if you could get a file that size you could upload that to flickr and then choose the BBcode that's closest to 1280 and post that
But that means the size isn't the size
...it's a safe bet that 800x600 jpeg on flickr is safe - try downloading one of yours
rules get bent and manipulated all the time!
