    Hi there,

just got my denon avr1803 today and i plugged all my speekers in eccept a sub cos i have'nt got one, plugged my dvd player in and my cd player. began to play a cd and was playing fine, was just testing all the different sound features on it then pressed the scorce button and the amp went into standby, no noise or nothing.
strange i thought so i got the remote and turned it back that way and a big flash came out of the top along with a little smoke.

now i can turn it on but afte about 3sec it goes into stanby again and thats it, also does it with nothing plugged into the back of it.

only been playing with it for about 10mins.

i can't see that i did something wrong by pressing a button can u??.

i'll get onto where i bought it and send it straight back.

any thoughts on this anyone as to why it may do this???

    cheers.

very pee'd off at the mo and trying to keep my calm. lol.

    BJ.

I had the same problem with my Denon AVR-A11SR, only played for about 20 minutes then went bang with small amount of smoke from the left hand side.

Took it back to 7 Oaks who replaced it, no problems with the second one, had it 11 months now.
