    yes, feel free to laugh, my friends do at the LANparties, but no matter how awful the thing looks it runs like a top.

    'fraid not, that fan's there to keep the 18.2gb 10krpm prototype SCSI drive from overheating and self-destructing. and partly for decoration, just like the velcroed on USB ports and now a sticky note with the drive data on it...

    btw, it looks even worse now, i had to switch out the 20gb IDE so now it's running SCSI and an IDE cd-rom and zipdrive...

    it sounds almost exactly like a jet turbine spinning up when you turn it on... but it works fine. :D

    it goes without saying that this machine has the name "Kludge" on my network.... :D

    just like last night's LANparty, the thing's wired as i need stuff... :D

    and yes, they do work fine.

    btw, at the LANparty, the favorite mod on that thing was the carrying strap. :D
